Welcome to EVERYDAY BUDDHIST and thanks for joining us as a subscriber. You now have full access to all of our courses, content and features as well as new content and courses as they are posted. You will also begin a journey along our Student Course Pathway that will help those new to Buddhism, those who wish to learn more about Buddhism and for those who wish to practice Buddhism in their everyday lives. Courses are designed to be taken in order as laid out within the EVERYDAY BUDDHIST Course Pathway. We also provide a weekly blog, quarterly LiveChats, quizzes and bibliographies so you may purchase books being referenced. Each course is broken up into sections, each consisting of lectures. But before we start on our pathway, we need to get oriented. Many aspects of Buddhism are different from what we might expect. These teachings originated in the East where the spiritual concerns were different from those in the West. When I study Buddhism, I often think of what Dorothy said in The Wizard of Oz. That is, "I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore." I often have that feeling too. We have to unlearn what we have learned in order to appreciate Buddhism within its own context. The next section will help us get ready to do just that. It is called Buddhism 101. This is an important preparatory step. Taking some time now will save us confusion in the future. As Mary Poppins said, "A job well begun is half done." The next section well ensure we are well begun.
