In this course, Dr. Mutsumi Wondra Sensei talks about the challenges, roles and responsibilities of women in the historical development of Buddhism. Starting with the Indian Caste system during Shakyamuni’s time to the 20th century, women have played a critical role in Buddhism in general and the Jodo Shinshu tradition as it migrated from Japan to the West.
